While participating to raise awareness and bring a voice to the approximately 40,000 families struggling to raise children with disabilities in the Washington Metropolitan area, guests will enjoy live music, the unveiling of renowned artist and philanthropist Lisa Jones' Shattered Glass II Collection, original works from WVS Articulate Gallery, celebrity models, special guests, silent auction, complimentary hor d’oeuvres, signature drinks, cash bar raffles and more.

Foundation Founder and Executive Director, Debbie Sahlin, established The Lollipop Kids Foundation to help families with children with disabilities, empower them and give them hope. LKF  understands the importance of “sharing knowledge, resources, strengths, passion and encouragement with families that are left feeling distraught and alone in the midst of hardship” and  has been successful in donating durable medical equipment to dozens of children whose families lack the resources to obtain it own their own. Sahlin’s son Ryan suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was 11 months old. Today, Ryan is 16 and Debbie wants to use her experience raising a child with a disability “to help others find the blessings hidden in tragedy”.

LISA JONES, an avid supporter of arts education and community awareness organizations donates her time by hosting fundraisers, donating proceeds from select exhibits, producing programs such as the Silver Starr Art Competition for all DC public and charter high school students in grades 9-12. To date, Lisa has helped raise over one hundred thousand dollars for various nonprofit organizations but states she was most honored being commissioned to create a painting to be displayed in the Pentagon dedicated to those who lost their lives and family members during the September 11 attack. Lisa is determined to make a difference and states “Few things are as simple as the ability to give of yourself".

Children with disabilities have the right to be given opportunities that allow them to live to their fullest potential. Too often, parents raising these children feel isolated socially and are burdened financially, emotionally and physically. They are forced to make hard decisions and sacrifice substancially in areas that most could not imagine. The Lollipop Kids Foundation exists to combat social stigmas, ease the financial burden placed on these families, offer emotional support, and provide brief respite so that every child with a disability has access to a hope and a future.
